The solution

Kinergy powers Rhythm’s first US Battery VPP

Rhythm Energy becomes the first US energy retailer to deploy Kinergy—turning home batteries into a coordinated, market-ready asset that creates value for customers and the grid alike.

Rhythm chose Kinergy because it was built inside an energy company, not a software house. Kinergy underpins Origin Loop, one of Australia’s largest VPPs, with 400,000+ connected devices and over 1.5 GW of controllable load and was designed from the ground up around wholesale market participation, not just device management.

For Rhythm Energy, key objectives are to:

• Aggregate behind-the-meter batteries into a single dispatchable asset for energy arbitrage and ancillary services in ERCOT
• Optimize charge and discharge in real time, balancing customer resilience with wholesale market value
• Provide customers with a compelling value proposition that can deliver both cost savings and peace of mind through an affordable backup power solution.
